There are 2 types of timers. 1- Battery-powered Waterproof Timers (9v) 2- Electrically Operated Timers (24v) 
  
In short, the signal from the timer comes to the Solenoid Valve (Electric Valve) via the signal cable and the on-off process is performed at the desired times.
